Talking Points: Know Better Place Overview

Know Better Place is a workplace culture change initiative that increases communication and collaboration between and within various departments and committees, and decreases duplication of initiatives, better aligning our efforts and creating a great workplace where employees want to stay and talented employees are attracted to.

  • Develop skilled leaders

Components

Steering Committee – to oversee and guide the engagement, communication and leadership pillars as below:

  • Recognition Committee – the first component linked with engaged employees.
  • Website – a welcoming portal for our current and prospective employees under the Communication pillar.
  • Leadership Development – class room and brown bag series topics; Institute in partnership with Storrs campus.

These are initial ideas relating to employee feedback from the 2005 Culture Survey and focus groups. It is expected that as the initiative rolls-out there will be additional components developed and implemented.

Outcomes

UConn Health Center, a great workplace with:
