Recognition Task Force
This task force will strive to explore how UConn Health Center employees would like to be acknowledged and appreciated.
- Less than 40 percent of employees are recognized and appreciated the way they would like to be.
- One area of improvement from the 2005 Culture and Diversity Survey is that UConn Health Center employees indicated that they are not acknowledged or appreciated for a job well done.
Task Force Charge: To ask employees how they would like to be recognized and rewarded and use those ideas to develop new ways to provide reward and
recognition programs across the Health Center. Where applicable, this committee will partner with UConnPride.
Representation: The committee will consist of employees representing a cross section of departments and divisions within the Health Center.
Meetings: The Recognition Committee will meet monthly beginning in August.
Timeline: This committee should have initial recommendations by October.
Membership: 50 percent of the committee members will turnover every six months to involve a great number of employees and keep the process creative and
innovative. Work-Life Task Force
Purpose: This task force will strive to create balance for employees by determining initiatives that help create a better balance between the demands of the job and enjoyment of life
outside work. Employees who are "out of balance" tend to experience more stress and fatigue and may be less focused at work.
Work-life balance programs can help:
- Retain employees and attract new ones.
- Improve morale.
- Increase productivity and job satisfaction.
- Strengthen working relationships and encourage teamwork.
- Create an environment in which employees are more likely to take initiative.
- Build diversity in both personnel and skills.
- Reduce stress, burnout and absenteeism.
Task Force Charge: Bring forward ideas from employees about what would help them balance the demands of work and life, improve the overall quality of work
time, and help employees create a positive experience at work.
