Recognition Task Force

Purpose

The Recognition Task Force will strive to explore how UConn Health Center employees would like to be acknowledged and appreciated.

  • Research in organizations across the United States shows that less than 40 percent of employees are recognized and appreciated the way they would like to be. (Maritz® Poll)
  • One area of improvement from the 2005 Culture and Diversity Survey is that UConn Health Center employees indicated that they are not acknowledged or appreciated for a job well done.

Task Force Charge: To ask employees how they would like to be recognized and rewarded and use those ideas to develop new ways to provide reward and recognition programs across the Health Center. Where applicable, this committee will partner with UConnPride.

Representation: The committee will consist of employees representing a cross section of departments and divisions within the Health Center.

Meetings: The Recognition Committee will meet monthly beginning in August.

Timeline: This committee should have initial recommendations by October.

Membership: 50 percent of the committee members will turnover every six months to involve a great number of employees and keep the process creative and innovative.
